News from the Great Plains Pond Society
July 2007

President’s Message
I can’t believe we are already into July. This year is flying by. I hope everyone’s ponds are doing well. My water lilies are going nuts this year. I counted 19 blooms at one time a few days ago.

I wanted to say thanks to Jerry and Kathy Gilmore for allowing the group to see their pond and yard. The members I talked to said it was very unique and liked what they saw. Sounds like it was a great turnout as well. A mandatory work party prevented me from attending, but it sounds like everyone had a good time. Thanks again Jerry and Kathy.

I am happy to report that our membership is turning a corner and heading back up again. We are getting some great new members. Please make sure if you see someone you don’t recognize at the pond meetings to introduce yourselves. Let’s make all members feel welcome. New members, please remember to take advantage of the considerable knowledge of this group. Everyone is always glad to discuss ponds and pond care/problems with you.

There is really not much new news to discuss with you this month. Please remember to take advantage of the website. If you have questions or suggestions, please let us know your thoughts.

Our next pond meeting will be Tuesday July 16th at the home of Ken Molacek at 13131 Normandy Circle, Omaha, Ne.  He’s off 132nd between Q and Harrison.

See you pondside.
